Salsa. More than a dance
Dance to the sounds of salsa, timba, bachata and reggaeton, whose driving force make these beats recognised around the world. “Salsa explosion” which took place in New York during the 60s used this word to unite the entire spectrum of the Caribbean dance styles. All you need to do is learn a few basic steps or even improvise and you will be able to feel the magic of salsa. Salsa is a social dance, so when it comes to recreation and fun it is most distinguished by compatibility of different styles. In addition to casino (Cuban salsa for two), there is also rueda de casino, which literally means – circle of casino dance. This group dance is a real attraction in parties and festivals.
Salsa parties are organised in cafes, beach bars and in the open all over Montenegro (Kotor, Tivat, Budva, Podgorica, Bar…). Instructors from Cuba as well as from the region participate in the “Cubamonte salsa festival”. Cuban and line salsa connect those who love this dance, and public classes that are organised by world famous dancers and salsa instructors gather people of different age, including those with almost no dancing skills. Within “Montenegro Dance” international festival, an event for everyone who wants to have fun, the participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the Latin dances. The event will take place in Herceg Novi, Kotor and Tivat.
