Porto Montenegro, founded in 2006, is a lavish superyacht marina. It was created in an idyllic location that had the required potential and space for creating the infrastructure needed to accommodate yachts of all sizes. The vision behind this ambitious project was to develop a large and iconic yacht marina in the Mediterranean and become the first big luxury development in the Balkans. Since then this development has attracted like-minded people looking for innovative and stand-out architectural, residential and commercial solutions.
Porto Montenegro has continued to evolve at a rapid pace from its start as a completely unknown concept into a famous landmark for yachts and superyachts and elite residential investments. It successfully fulfils its mission to create a world-class marina that would allow other investors to share in the long-term capital appreciation of waterfront property and deep-water berths.
After years of dedication and professionalism, Porto Montenegro’s team continues to invest in this venture in order to ensure sustainable growth of the Mediterranean’s leading luxury yacht homeport and marina village. Currently there are 450 berths in the marina, 300 sold-out luxury apartments as well as 60 ground-floor retail units that comprise restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, amenities and the 5-star Regent Hotel that has more than 130 luxury suites and apartments.
A new chapter in the history of Porto Montenegro started when the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the principal investment arm of the Government of Dubai, acquired the project during 2016.
Great minds think alike, and a similar project was created in the Middle East’s most advanced and growing location of Dubai where creating projects completely from scratch is so common that Dubai has justifiably earned its reputation for ambitious infrastructural projects.
Port de la Mer is a world-class beachfront set within the prestigious Jumeirah 1 neighborhood. The destination incorporates a minimalist and contemporary design with a mix of dining, shopping, leisure, entertainment and hospitality experiences. It also has a residential community and 2.5 kilometers of relaxing beaches.
Once Porto Montenegro was established it was just a matter of time before very similar projects were going to appear elsewhere, especially in the Middle East. The influence from the Balkans can be clearly seen when viewing these new developments.
As with any business, a successful business model implemented in one market can be scaled and adapted to fit any new market. Real estate is no exception to this.
