Sveti Stefan is a small built-up islet in the Adriatic Sea. It is attached to the land by a narrow isthmus and is about 6km from Budva.
This island used to be a fisherman’s village but was transformed into a holiday resort that kept the original look and feel of the place including its narrow streets, churches and old stone houses. The wall around it was to keep out the Turks and the pirates and was built in 1442. Today this resort is a playground for the rich and famous with rooms, cottages, suites and grand suites. It’s a place where hand-restored stone buildings hide modern luxuries.
The Luštica peninsula on the Adriatic Sea is located on the right of the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. The major towns in the area are Herceg Novi and Tivat. Several small villages combine to form this peninsula.
This area is fast becoming a top tourist destination with many resorts being planned or being built. All the usual tourist attractions are here, including beaches and excursions. The surrounding areas are popular hiking and biking destinations due to their natural and untouched beauty. The area is famous for olives, olive oil, brandy, wine and cheeses. This area has special spiritual significance with churches and monasteries that date back to the 1500s.
