The forth TEDx conference with the official licence of global TED platform will be held on September 5th in Culture-informative Center (KIC) ‘’Budo Tomović’’ in Podgorica.
This year TEDx has gathered again great individuals from various spheres and speakers these are the speakers that will be on KIC stage to inspire: creator of TV shows ‘’Robin Hood’’ and ‘’Insider’’ and CEO of ‘’Badger Crew’’, Darko Ivanović; founder of ‘’BEDEM fest’’, Petar Šundić; world traveler, Edin Krnić; personal trainer and inventor of ‘’Live.Love.Lift’’ concept, Aleksandra Rašović, sports psychologist, Nikola Mijušković and graduate of electrical engineering and permaculture designer, Aleksandrina Vujačić.
Next to local names, TEDx Podgorica 2017 will also bring Friday Jones, famous tattoo artist from the USA, whose tattoos beautify names such as Penelope Kruz, Robbie Williams, Angelina Jolie, many Oscar, Grammy, Tony and Olivier award winners and whose work can be found among cover albums of famous musicians as well as Fender-Jackson guitar. With more that 26,000 hours of ink and longer than 25 years in business, Friday has turned her work to post-operative tattoos and in cooperation with some of the best plastic surgeons in the country, she has started with nipple pigmentation and ilustrative scar therapy.
TED is a global platform dedicated to ‘’Ideas Worth Spreading’’ whereas TEDx is locally organized event focused on individuals and inovations from different spheres and it helps promoting the most inspirative thinkers and practitioners.
TED has started its journey in 1984 through gathering inovators, leaders in the fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design. 30 years later, TED is a global phenomenon presenting individuals that believe in Ideas Worth Spreading. Since its establishment in 1984 until today, TED(x) conferences has gathered many famost modern speakers such as: Steve Jobs, Jamie Oliver, Jane Fonda, Monica Lewinsky, Bill Gates, Bono, Sting, David Cameron, bust also some less known such as Richard Turere, 12-year old boy from Uganda that won an award for outsmarting lions with five flashlights bulbs, a car battery and solar panel.
TED.com has published more than 1,300 amazing high-quality speeches and made this website into a leader in presenting inovative ideas. Until today, TED has given almost 4.000 TEDx licences in more than 200 countries reaching all continents, including Antarctica where TEDxScottBase event has been held not so long ago.
TEDx Podgorica is an annual event organized by the group of volunteer enthusiasts willing to feature creativity and inovation of Montenegrin citizens. It is a non-profit event with the only purpose of promoting multicultural and intelectual potential and connecting people with various profiles. In other words, it is an event with explicit purpose of spreading new and inspirational ideas. Conference speeches, known as ‘’TEDTalks’’ are available for free view on the official TED.com website after the conferences.
There have been three TEDx events organized in Podgorica and they gathered names such as:
Benjamin Perks (former UNICEF representative for Montenegro), Dragan Adžić (women handball coach ‘’Budućnost/Future’’, Radoje Cerović (clinical psychologist and communication psychology expert), Shai Cohen (philology doctor), Staniša Raspopović (researcher and lecturer), Marianne van Twillert-Wennekes (blogger, photographer and translator), Bojan Đurišić (architect), Zoran Ilinčić (engineer and inventor) and so on.
