The Port of Bar was constructed by the Turks in the late 1500s. Initially it consisted of a single breakwater and a wooden pier. The formal construction took place in 1905 when the first foundation stone was laid. Today Bar is the main seaport to Montenegro serving passengers and freight and recently it became latest port in the Adriatic coast to be visited by cruise ships.
The city of Bar is a modern city and a popular tourist destination. It has everything to offer that tourists want including pebble beaches. The area is surrounded by many beautiful and natural scenery that extends as far as Skadar Lake and these are popular hiking destinations. For sightseeing there is the old town of Bar (located 4km away from the new town of Bar), the Haj Nehaj fortress and the castle of King Nikola.
The port of Kotor is located on the far southern coast of the Bay of Kotor at the foot of the Pestingrad and Vrmac mountains. The journey into the port has an amazing view of the mountains rising on both sides of it.
The port of Kotor has experienced and grown with the development in the area and especially with the maritime development. It’s better suited for cruise ships, passenger transport and nautical tourism rather than for large industrial vessels.
The weather is generally pleasant and not stormy with a southeasterly wind that brings rain and a northerly wind that is dry. The waves reach a height of only 50cm with the changing tides fluctuating between 30 and 60cm. The sea current is not very strong either which makes this ideally suited for boats.
Porto Montenegro was developed by a group of entrepreneurs (Peter Munk, Bernard Arnault, Sandor Demijan, Oleg Deriupaska, Lord Jacob Rothschild and Nathaniel Rothschild) as a beautiful and luxurious playground in the striking UNESCO protected Bay of Kotor. This port is a world-class, full-service marina.

The berths in the port range from 12m to 250m making it the ideal home for all types of yachts including superyachts.
The Dukley Marina is located in the Dukley resort community in the Budva Riviera just in front of the historic old town.
It is an international port of entry with border controls that operate seasonally from May to October from 8am to 10pm daily. It is also located in easy reach of the airports. Tivat airport is 25km away and the main international airport at Podgorica is about an hour’s drive away.
The marina has 300 berths with Mediterranean mooring. Electrical connections and waste removal services are available at the berths.
Prčanj is a small marina with only 20 berths available in winter and 15 in the summer. It can accommodate boats up to 25m. It is located in a natural bay just before you reach the old city of Kotor by sea. It is 10km from Tivat airport.
During winter the marina can also berth smaller boats out of the water and is equipped with an 18-ton boat lift which also makes it the ideal destination for boats that need repairs or maintenance done to the parts that would normally be in the water.
The services offered include mooring assistance, electrical and water connections, Wi-Fi and parking.
