The Institute of Marine Biology has been given a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway for the establishment of the Centre for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation “BOKAAQUARIUM”.
The grant contract, worth 557 thousand euros, was signed by the Rector of the University of Montenegro, prof. Danilo Nikolic, and the Ambassador of Norway to Montenegro, Arne Sannes Bjornstad. The establishment of the Centre will be of great importance for further development of the Institute of Marine Biology, especially in the segments of preservation, study and protection of the Adriatic Sea.
The Centre will include the establishment of the first public aquarium in Montenegro, which will provide an insight into flora and fauna of the Adriatic Sea, and will have a significant role in the education of schoolchildren in Montenegro and the region.
