Emir Kusturica performs for the first time in Montenegro | August 10
A multi-award-winning film director and musician Emir Kusturica will perform on August 10th on the 17th KotorArt Don Brankov Days of Music with the musical composition No Smoking Orchestra, for the first time in Montenegro!
The renowned film director, the designer of Andrićgrad, the founder, and director of the film and music festival “Kustendorf”, Emir Kusturica has been known to the world public for almost 20 years. The group, comprised of ten musicians, had noteworthy and successful performances within various cultural and music events in many countries of South and North America, as well as across Europe.
The current members of the Emir Kusturica & No Smoking Orchestra are: Dejan Sparavalo (violin and vocals), Zoran Milosevic (accordion and vocal), Emir Kusturica (rhythm guitar and vocals), Nenad Petrovic (saxophone), Zoran Marjanovic (drums), Ivan Maksimovic (solo guitar), Ištvan Mađarić (bass guitar), Nikola Kitanović (keyboards), Strahinja Banović (trumpet).
The musical creation of the band is a complex musical invention inspired by the music of the Balkan space, presented through the medium of sound, as well as film and stage performance. Music is distinguished by the fusion of gypsy folk, jazz music, rock and punk sound. Some of the published abilities are: Unza Unza Time (2003), La Vie Es Un Miracle (2004), Live is a Miracle in Buenos Aires (2005), Time of the Gypsies (2007). They recorded music for the film “Black Cat, White Cat” and the latest album, Corps Diplomatique, was released in April this year.
Concert tickets are sold through the Gigs Tix network, at over 50 sales locations in 23 locations in Montenegro.
